Professor Sir Andrew Likierman was Dean of London Business School (LBS) from 2009 – 2017. In this time LBS faced many challenges and opportunities. Andrew’s strong and effective leadership skills ensured that the School always rose to the challenge and continues, in an ever-changing world, to have a profound impact on the way the world does business.

Andrew began working at LBS in 1974 as a member of faculty. He was always a popular lecturer and was greatly respected and appreciated by his students. Andrew held the roles of Senior Lecturer, Professor of Accounting and Financial Control, Founding Director of the Executive MBA Programme and Acting Dean, before being formally appointed Dean in 2009.

Andrew’s career has spanned work in the public and private sectors. He has run a textile plant in Germany, been Head of the Government Accountancy Service and was a Managing Director of the UK Treasury. Previous non-executive posts include chairman of the National Audit Office, of the Economists’ Bookshop Group and of the market research firm MORI. He has also been a non-executive director of the Bank of England, Barclays Bank, and is a Past President of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. He is currently a non-executive director of the quoted insurance underwriter Beazley and an Independent national director of Times Newspapers.
